Today we would like to introduce you all to Matt, Adam and Kev who make up this amazing, upbeat and heavy sounding rock band known as "Matt Long & The Revenant Ones". This hard hitting rock band have been working hard to get their debut album, "The Other Side", created and out there but due to the current pandemic had to have this pushed back. However, I am pleased to announce the band shall be releasing the album in Spring of this year and I assure you all it is not one you are going to want to miss. This progressive rock and metal four piece band from South Australia released their debut album on the 4th January 2021 and have such amazing reviews from places such as "The Independent", 3.5/5 and "HEAVY Magazine", 9/10.  We highly recommend this band for all you lovers of progressive rock music.   Today we would love to introduce you to this amazing four piece band from the South of England that is known as "Omega Initiative, who have their new debut EP out TODAY!  Omega initiative is keeping it nice and heavy with their new EP “Ouroboros”.  The clean vocals mixed in with the powerful screams show how diverse their range can be.   The harmonies and melodies are excellent treat to the ears.   The guitar riffs are full of technique and catchy melodies melding well with the thick bass making for an excellent heavy backdrop with electrifying drums propelling them forward. The breakdowns are a fantastic shift slowing you down for a moment before slamming it into 5 th gear for the final haul. The lyrics are like poetry slammed in your face with high velocity. Well let us tell you a little about this amazing band; Sweetwood Amber Remedy started as a project by Cody Vaillant (ex Toronto Wildheart frontman) which has bloomed into a passion. This independent singer and song writer, who hails from Toronto Ontario Canada, has self produced the album which features nine energetic, retro style songs that are filled with rock rifts and amazing vocals. These guys have only been around for about six month but they have jumped in head first and are powering their way through. With already seven songs listed up on their YouTube channel they show no signs of slowing down and are really positively pushing themselves forward with their music. This creative musician, Oyvind, is a Norwegian singer and song writer who first got into music through doing poetry. He has studied at music college for three years then done one year at Trodertun (Music School), has sung opera and has been in two bands previous and is now a solo artist who released his first album at the end of July 2020 called "Momentum". This artist has stated that he find that "music helps forget about struggles" so he has put his heart and soul into creating music and has produced a great album with some fantastic heartfelt songs. Today I would like to introduce you all to a band called "Breksir". Hailing from Queretaro, Mexico, this four piece band bring a mixture of heavy metal, grunge and death metal which creates the best kind of music for all you headbanger lovers. This band started out in late 2016 under the name "Vegvisir", however due to some let downs with at the time members, the band where forced to rethink and find new members for the band who would flourish and help push the band towards the direction they where meant to be going. Then finally in August 2019 the band found the members they needed for the band and then changed the band name to "Breksir" with the line up of Joseph (vocals and rhythm guitar), Bruno (lead guitar), Humberto (bass) and Jorge (drums).   Brass Monkey is an acoustic, solo artist from North East England, UK, who performs a range of covers and original music with a very interesting grungy, rock mixed with a blues style which is very unique and extremely catchy! Diabolical Orange Monkey is a new band from Junction City, Ks.  This 4 piece band was created through an idea during the current pandemic. This band mix hard rock, metal, reggae and funk together to create a very unique sound.   New stars have joined the line up for the upcoming virtual concert in tribute to the late David Bowie. A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day!  will be filled with a star studded line up with stars including Lizzy Hale (Halestorm), Joe Elliott (Def Leppard), Bernard Fowler (Rolling Stones), Ian Astbury (The Cult), Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), William Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Peter Frampton, Ground Control (Super Group: Corey Taylor of Slipknot, Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters and Dave Navarro of Jane's Addiction), Boy George, Duran Duran, Adam Lambert and many more! The tribute act has been set up and arranged by Bowie's long time American piano player Mike Garson and will be held on the 8th January 2021, the day in which would of been Bowie's 74th birthday. Children Of Bodom's singer Alexi Laiho sadly passed away last week. Alexi passed away at his home in Helsinki, Finland last week at the age of 41.   Alexi Laiho founded C.O.B in 1993 alongside Jaska Raatikainen (COB drummer).  The band is one of Finland's best-selling artists, with more than 250,000 records sold in their native country. Alexi also won the 2008 Metal Hammer Golden Gods prize in the category of Dimebag Darrell Shredder Award.   In March 2020, Alexi and Daniel Freyberg announced their new band, Bodom After Midnight, after the dissolution of Children Of Bodom. Paradise Lost drummer Waltteri V äyrynen and ex-Santa Cruz bassist Mitja Toivonen complete the bands line up. I will mostly be focused on the rock, punk and metal scene, however may indulge into other forms of music as I go along.
